In the same vein as my earlier work called "When Toons Meet", here's "Loft Toon Story". This time, it's a parody of a popular TV show in Quebec called Loft Story. The concept is simple: Put 6 single men and 6 single women together in a loft for 12 weeks, try to find your soulmate, eliminate one person a week, and the last two person remaining are the winning couple. For this parody, I chose 10 well known adult single characters from 10 well known cartoon TV series. They are:
John McGuirk from Home Movies
Velma from ScoobyDoo
Squidward Tentacles from Spongebob Squarepants
Leela from Futurama
Glen Quagmire from Family Guy
Liane Cartman from South Park
Batman from The Batman
Selma Bouvier from The Simpsons
Ricky Butcher from Sons of Butcher
Joan of Ark from Clone High
And the said "loft" they will all live into, I suppose you recognised it: The Flintstones house, complete with all of the classic prehisto-modern equipment.
There shall be also 3 other toons that will make comments about the show. They are Chef from South Park, Nikki Wong from 6Teen, and Caillou. About the latter, I probably should explain why I drew him with grey curly hair and beard. The first season of Quebec's version of Loft Story had controversial Dr Mailloux as one of the hosts. I just thought I could do something funny with the Mailloux/Caillou pun.
Once completed, it should be published in the May 2006 issue of Safarir.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
